Poietis is a biotechnology company specializing in the design of regenerative medicine therapies thanks to 4D laser bioprinting. It provides industrial stakeholders and researchers with a unique platform to design and manufacture bio-printed products for regenerative medicine, preclinical research and evaluating the efficacy of cosmetic products and ingredients.
Poietis is currently developing 3D physiological models and has partnerships with major pharmaceutical and cosmetic groups. These tissue models allow for a more predictive in vitro assessment of the toxicity and the efficacy of candidate drugs and new cosmetic ingredients.
Poietis has undertaken several projects with international leaders to develop complex bio-printed products such as the bioprinting of a hair follicle with L'Oréal (see Press Release). Poietis has developed its single-cell bioprinting platform to make tissue bioprinting processes compatible with the requirements of industrial production and the standards for manufacturing clinical products.
Poietis is a company of 25 employees from various scientific and technological backgrounds, all dedicated to the development of the most precise and efficient bioprinting platform in the world.
Born within the Incubateur Régional d'Aquitaine (IRA) from 2014 to 2014 and winner of the Concours i-LAB 2014 (2014 Innovative Technology Business Creation National Competition, launched by the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research), Poietis valorizes almost 10 years of research led at the Inserm and the University of Bordeaux focusing on the development of new approaches to tissue engineering.
Labeled a "Young Innovative Company" (JEI), Poietis is a joint stock company created in september 2014. She obtained from the University of Bordeaux, the INSERM and the SATT Aquitaine Science Transferta worldwide exclusive license to patents linked with Laser-Assisted Bioprinting technology, while developping its own range of patents.
Poietis was awarded a Research Tax Credit (CIR) for 2015, 2016 and 2017 by the DGRI (French Directorate-General for Research and Innovation).

Fabien has an over 20 years experience in the field of Regenerative Medicine.
He holds a PhD in Material Science from the National Institute of Applied Sciences Rennes (2000) and an Habilitation in Health and Life Sciences from Bordeaux University (2010). Fabien was appointed Researcher at INSERM in 2005 and was also Invited Researcher at Harvard University in 2010.
He initiated pioneering work in the field of bioprinting and has published over 20 scientific articles and more than 100 invited lectures on this new technology. He also completed its scientific training by an entrepreneurship program provided at HEC, Paris in 2012-2013.
Scientific by training (M.Sc) Bruno has a professional experience of over 20 years in biotechnologies.
After beginning his career in biochemistry and technology transfer, he worked in the US especially as a Research Associate and Analyst within a consulting firm based in Chicago, IL. He returned to France in 2001 for launching a biotech start-up incubator and then held various positions in Business, Sales&Marketing (Cellectis, Mauna Kea Technologies, Fluofarma) and management (President and CEO of Biospace Lab).
With his experience Bruno created his company, BLS consulting, in 2011 and accompanied more than fifteen biotech/medtech companies for business and corporate development in preclinical research and dermocosmetics.
Bertrand has 17 years of experience in the photonics field. He graduated from the University of Bordeaux with a Ph.D. in Physics obtained in 2000 on the near-field optical microscopy for the detection of single molecules.
Before joining Poietis, Bertrand worked 10 years at Mauna Kea Technologies (listed company based in Paris) as R&D Manager to develop the most miniaturized microscope in the world dedicated to medical imaging in vivo. Bertrand then joined the Cluster “Route des Lasers®” (Bordeaux) as a Project Director. For 4 years he has accompanied and certified over 220 photonics projects. Bertrand has published 25 articles and is co-inventor of 13 patents.
Delphine is an Engineer from École Polytechnique and a graduate of Cornell University Materials Science. She also completed a PhD in tissue engineering at the laboratory “Matière et Systèmes Complexes” of the University Paris 7 (UMR 7057). Her thesis focused on methods for creating tissue structures from stem cells and biomaterials and resulted in four publications and a patent.
Before joining Poietis, Delphine worked at Bertin Technologies on industrialization projects of stem cell culture processes for autologous cardiac therapy. She also followed the 2014 Stanford Ignite Europe, an Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme of the Stanford Business School.
